Chloe McKenna of Thomson is January's top scoring agent, winning the use of a Porsche Boxster for a month

Chloe McKenna may only be an apprentice travel consultant, but she could teach even the most experienced agent a thing or two about customer service.

The 18 year old, who works at Thomson in Hamilton, Scotland, got the highest score in January’s Mystery Shopper and thanks to Elite Island Resorts, has won the use of a Porsche Boxster S for a month.

But there is a twist – Chloe hasn’t passed her driving test, so colleague Jennifer Kennedy will be driving the Porsche instead, with the promise to make sure Chloe is chauffeured about.

“It felt fantastic to win,” said Chloe, who admits she can’t remember being mystery shopped. “Now I definitely plan to get my licence.”

Mystery Shopper asked Chloe about a mid-price break for a couple to Turkey, with some nightlife and water sports.

Chloe impressed Mystery Shopper by asking all the right questions, actively selling extras and showing Mystery Shopper a video of a hotel she was recommending. Chloe even offered her a cup of tea and a biscuit.

Chloe’s boss, branch manager Paul Reid said: “I’m so proud of Chloe, her customer service is fantastic.”

The Porsche was delivered to Chloe by Graham Hawkins from Elite Island Resorts, and her mum, dad and brother all came down to watch.

Hawkins said: “We like to support agents and reward the best of them. We thought they would love to drive a Porsche as a thank you.”

TUI Travel distribution director Nick Longman said: “We spend a lot of time training staff to provide excellent customer service, so I am absolutely thrilled our Hamilton shop scored so highly in Travel Weekly’s Mystery Shopper.

"The agent who did such a great job is Chloe and she’s an absolute star. Her charming manner, people skills and attention to detail are hugely appreciated, not only by our customers, but also the rest of the Quarry Street team. In fact, I think the next month will see Chloe become more popular than ever – as she doesn’t have a driving licence, it’s her lucky colleagues that are getting to drive the Porsche Boxster.”
